• KDE All Applications list is empty. Screenshot attached.

    Hi everyone.
“All applications” list is empty but when I type application name, it shows in the menu. Any clue on how to rebuild the list would be appreciated. Regards,
    Roy

  • Try deleting the xdg-desktop-menu-dummy.menu file and run the kbuildsycoca5 command again.
    Restart your system

    rm ~/.config/menus/applications-merged/xdg-desktop-menu-dummy.menu
    kbuildsycoca5

  • Thank you @pyUser for your input. Followed the steps & here is the output:
    https://paste.ubuntu.com/25009935/

    It says,
kf5.kservice.sycoca: The menu spec file contains a Layout or DefaultLayout tag without the mandatory Merge tag inside. Please fix your file.

  • still no joy. Any hints please? Is it possible to restore the application menu from the installation disc?
