• Install Windows after Antergos

    Hey guys,

hope this is the right forum corner.

I know it’s way more easier to install Windows and then Antergos (Linux in general), however I would like to do it the other way.

Since with GRUB it always can be a hassle I would like to know if there’s anything special I have to look at while doing this with an Antergos installation before Windows or if I can just follow basic guides like e.g. this one: https://www.linuxdeveloper.space/install-windows-after-linux/

TL;DR Anything special I have to look at performing this due to Antergos?

    Thanks for helping me out.

  • @got-it-man Antergos is installed with UEFI boot management so you can just install windows and then select from your UEFI bios which OS to boot. At least in theory, I’ve always used MBR myself so I’ve never really tried this but the reason why Windows would override Linux’s boot manager was because windows would write it’s own boot manager to the MBR, but Antergos simply isn’t using the MBR, at least not if it’s a recent installation.

If you really want a guide to be sure, follow this one instead https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dual_boot_with_Windows (Always refer to arch guides for antergos when available since it’s basically the same system)
