• Server Edition

    Hello,

my idea is to provide a “Server Edition” of Antergos. Right now there is just a “NOX - Base Install” option, which does not provide a DE on top. I am thinking about features like “LAMP”, “Mail Server”, “NAS” and/or even “Groupware”.

To make this whole stuff easy to configure for the “interested” User, applications like [url:1ydok1xv]http://ajenti.org/[/url:1ydok1xv] or [url:1ydok1xv]https://github.com/cznweb/genesis[/url:1ydok1xv] come into my mind.

What do you think? Anybody interested in joining the party to provide something like this with the Antergos Logo on it?

IMHO one of the first thinks to implement is a working and easy to use CLI-Installer. I am currently thinking about using the usual Cnchi-Installer and stripping the GUI from it, to be able to provide the same kind of guidance for a server install on the CLI.

    More ideas?

Cool! I’m sorry I don’t have neither the time nor the expertise to do this, but I hope somebody else will join you.

You already have a CLI installer. Is that not good enough?

    Cheers!

  • I agree that our CLI is a great start. You would only have to add an option for server install in the desktop selection and then include the initial configuration script. It’s a neat idea but we (Antergos devs) have too much on our plates right now to do it. You are welcome to contribute though!

Please give a feedback after you get help so the thread can be set to solved.

  • Well… rolling release distros are more stable than people think… but yes, it won’t be my first choice for a server.
