• What's wrong with my /etc/fstab?

    Installed the ntfs drivers and went to add my other drives to my /etc/fstab and it fails to boot. Drops me into emergency mode to fix it. Kept giving me Dependency failed errors and checking the device, etc until I just commented out the drives.

  • you need use bind to allow mounting with fstab in your user path…
    i would mount like this:

    UUID=51373C28-418B-4B54-A4D3-EC4F7F387118 /mnt/games/games1 ntfs-3g defaults,relatime,discard,data=ordered 0 0
    UUID=6EF90AAB-0CDA-46EE-9AF8-FA1F7B24073E /mnt/games/games2 ntfs-3g defaults,relatime,discard,data=ordered 0 0
    UUID=5BA7DA87-0FAF-4147-910E-CCC5B6A02B53 /mnt/games/games3 ntfs-3g defaults,relatime,discard,data=ordered 0 0
    /mnt/games /home/bryce/games auto bind 0 0

    sudo mkdir  /mnt/games

    mkdir /home/bryce/games

    And discard only if it is a ssd

  • I made the directories as my user, I’m guessing that’s the problem then? And they are SSDs.

    Do I need a rw in the options or no? I’m trying to mount them so my user can get at them.

  • Archwiki say this:

    If you are running on a single user machine, you may like to own the file system yourself and grant all possible permissions:

    /dev#UUID/#=NTFS-partition#UUID  /mnt/whatthehell  ntfs-3g   uid=username,gid=users    0       0
