• Why no battery optimisation by default?

    Hi

Wondering why a program like Laptop Mode Tools or TLP isn’t bundled with Antergos.

If you’re running on AC power, it runs everything at stock and desktop users won’t be impacted.

Without these apps, Antergos can look and feel like a battery hog compared to other operating systems.

    Thanks
    Jay

  • Not everybody runs Antergos on Laptops. The tools are in the repos, just install them if you want them.

There would be no impact to those on desktop from what I can tell. The software detects battery and only changes things when it’s on battery

  • @lukyjay These programs most likely (certainly) take up space. I understand where you are coming from, as I run Antergos on a laptop. Maybe these programs don’t take up a lot of space, but it is still less than what could be used. By having them in the repos, it allows those who want them to have them and those who don’t need them to not.
