I had the same issue with the install USB, but I was able to get past it with the instructions on the arch wiki:
edd=off noapic modprobe.blacklist=pinctrl_cherryview
I was able to install with cnchi (once I made sure it was updated, and after disabling best-mirror-finding). I put in Openbox rather than Gnome, but it was otherwise a pretty standard install. When booting from the eMMC which I installed to, however, we’re back at the blinking cursor screen. Another post suggested that I might be able to drop down to console with CTRL+ALT+F1, but this did not work (not clear if that’s a keybord issue or a ‘we aren’t even booted into runlevel 1’ issue)
If it’s just the kernel flags, I’d appreciate any insight on how to find and mount the boot partition cnchi created and edit
/boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg. If it’s possible to do a fresh install with cnchi that also adds the flags, that’d be equally cool. Thanks!
