• Black screen after longer screen lock XFCE


    Hi
    I am using Antergos XFCE, when the xfce desktop is locked either manually or timer-based for longer time the screen goes black after typing the password to unlock. nothing response, i can see the mouse pointer but it is not moving even if i disconnect it and reconnect it, same thing to keyboard. nothing works so i restart my PC, I’m using XScreenSaver.

  • When you say that you are using xscreensaver what is the Loginmanager then ?

    As for me I don’t know the Loginmanager, I guess Light-Locker if that’s a Loginmanager? But then I am not using xscreensaver. At least when I go to Settings -> Screensaver it tells me that the deamon is not running.

  • standard is lightdm with webkit-greeter…
    lightlocker is a session locker build on xscreensaver…

    There are three things you can do…
    1.see whats went wrong with lightlocker and/or lightdm
    2. change the greeter from webkit to gtk greeter
    3 change the Loginmanager to GDM
