• \[SOLVED\] Lazarus, choosing the correct install?

    Hi there,

I like to code in pascal and there is a package Lazarus (IDE) which utilizes the FPC compiler. I see however three packages in pacman, which of the three do I need to install?

    1. Lazarus
    2. Lazarus-GTK2
    3. Lazarus-QT

Or maybe I need to install all three?

  • You have to install lazarus and then the UI of your choice.

Just installing lazarus you will get lazbuild to run from terminal. If you like gtk then install lazarus-gtk2 to have an UI, or if you like qt, install lazarus-qt

  • Qt is supposedly faster than GTK.

  • Okay, thank you both for answering!
