  • try to put:

    nouveau.modeset=0

    to kernel parameters on startup.
Press “e” for edit the line and put “nouveau.modeset=0” after “quiet

  • @joekamprad tnks :+1: I will try ! Next time!
Something similar work with ubuntu nomodeset but in low res 800x600 or something, and after installing intel drivers hangs again :(

  • @joekamprad I’ve been tried and I’m tired :) modeset=0 work and installation went perfect, but on login, Gnome hangs with the silly message “Oh no! Somethings go wrong”. KDE displays only mouse pointer, Cinamon same as KDE and finally Mate work with some crapy graphic performance.
    And I’m stuck for while on Win10 :( :(

  • As i can see you have hybrid graphics?

    to see:

    lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E "(VGA|3D)"

    will give info…

For a workaround you can blacklist nouveau and install intel driver:

    sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf
    blacklist nouveau

    yaourt -S xf86-video-intel

reboot and may you have working intel graphics…

There is a wiki entry on archwiki for a:N551JM
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ASUS_N551JM

There is also a new package for Antergos to atomaticly install:

    yaourt -S nvidia-installer

    then check:

    nvidia-installer -h

  • @joekamprad thanks, on next attempt :) I will try! To disable one adapter, I think intel HD 530 is problematical.
