    Blank instead of login screen after latest update

    Hello all,

    After running the latest update today 2017-01-17 @ 18:15 CST, I get a blank screen with the mouse cursor, nothing else. I could login in text mode only.

    It seems the system is fully functional, as the mouse pointer moves normally and the power button shuts the computer off and on. I tried the xxxx.modeset=0 and nomodeset in Grub with no luck.

    The updated modules were:

    [2017-01-18 18:15] [ALPM] upgraded libtasn1 (4.9-2 -> 4.10-1)
    [2017-01-18 18:15] [ALPM] upgraded libcups (2.2.1-1 -> 2.2.2-1)

    … and it worked out fine… I’ve got my login screen with no problems…

    Did not work for me. Just swapped to gdm.

    @Serense … so it was just a lightdm problem?
