• lightdm failed to start after package update

lightdm failed to start after package update and reboot. I have downgrade the package back to what it was before update but lightdm still fails to start, any ideas guys, thanks

  • Check your logs. There are in the /var/log/lightdmfolder. Oh, also check /var/log/Xorg.0.log log file.

    Cheers!

    Thanks

  • Try this: sudo pacman -S lightdm-gtk-greeter

  • @karasu

Great that gets me up and running again but the greeter is different to what i had. So after a bit of googling i edited /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and changed greeter-session to lightdm-webkit2-greeter, back to normal now thanks. Don’t know how greeter changed !

    Thanks again
