The gvfs trash causes lots of problems on various distros. Antergos is no exception it seems. Not sure how to investigate this bug nor who to report it to (gnome project? thunar?)

All I do is emptying the trash through right clicking in the location bar in Thunar. Then the popup dialog comes up saying “preparing to empty trash”, and then nothing happens, Thunar eventually stops responding. Sometimes, I had to kill it, other times it just takes very long to finish its job. Somehow the files are deleted from trash.

Here is my partition layout:
/dev/sda1 /root
/dev/sda2 /home
/dev/sda3 /data (.Trash-1000 in filesystem root)
/dev/sdb1 /data2 (.Trash-1000 in filesystem root)

I have disabled all thumbnail features in thunar.

I have also noticed that if I delete some files (moving them to trash) in a different program, Thunar displays the same problem and hangs for a while. That’s what shows up in syslogs:

[email protected]> journalctl | grep gvfsd
gvfsd[2581]: Error calling org.gtk.vfs.MonitorClient.Changed(): No such interface 'org.gtk.vfs.MonitorClient' on object at path /org/gtk/vfs/client/filemonitor/187 (g-dbus-error-quark, 19)

Does that ring a bell to anyone? Just curious.
