As far as i can see there is nobody get this working with GTX1070/1080 on actual Antergos ISO.

Two ways for you to try are:
1: Put nouveau.modeset=0 + a suitable resolution for your Monitor (caus nomodset may need) to boot up the ISO.

2: try to use a ISO >< then actual antergos-17.2 (older or wait for the next)

  • Thanks for your help, nouveau.modeset=0 results in this :

As a side note, this option is already set in the NVIDIA fallback menu item in the bootloader.

Yea Bios Boot do not have this option…
Good that your screen does not went black!
what is the resolution of your huge huge panel?

    You can access TTY2? (Strg+Alt+F2)

Would be good to see the xorg log:

    cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Second try you can do is to use: nouveau.blacklist=1

The idea is to force the Xserver to use vga standard driver…

  • If you could install Antergos then it maybe can be easily fixed:

The problem is if you’re trying to install Antergos and can’t use the mouse and changing settings at the live-cd is no use.
Therefore you need to try the workaround with the kernel module.

  • @joekamprad Thanks for you help

The monitor’s resolution is 3440 x 1440. It is brand new and I like it a lot ;).

    This is the Xorg log:
    alt text

    with these options:
    alt text

With just nouveau.blacklist=1 added to the default options, the cursor is invisible and no Xorg.0.log is produced.

  • Failed toload module “nv” (module does not exist, 0)
Failed toload module “vesa” (module does not exist, 0)

i just have no more idears … this two are the only driver would fit a nvidia chipped graphiccard… but seems that there are not longer kompiled in the kernel

  • @joekamprad Actually, this was from the minimal ISO.

From the Live ISO, with nouveau.blacklist=1, I get
    alt text

the nvidia fallback give a single blinking ‘_’, Idem for just nomodeset.

  • ***NV130 family (Pascal)

    NV134 (GP104) GeForce GTX (1070, 1080)***

    Current nouveau Status

2D/3D acceleration supported on all pre-Pascal cards; see FeatureMatrix for details.
2D/3D acceleration support for Pascal requires NVIDIA to release signed redistributable firmware blobs.

Someone have any idea about a fallback option for nvidia cards???
