• \[SOLVED\]AMD catalyst drivers installation problem

Hello. I’ve installed AMD catalyst drivers using Vi0l0’s[/color:2qzn2zrb] repository and now whenever I try to boot I get:

    System: recovering journal
System: clean (number of blocks and files)

I had to uninstall these packages in order to install drivers:
    xf86-video-ati
    ati-dri
    libgl

    and installed:

    catalyst-hook
    catalyst-utils
    catalyst-libgl
opencl-catalyst - optional, needed for OpenCL support
lib32-catalyst-utils - optional, needed for 32-bit OpenGL support on 64-bit systems
lib32-catalyst-libgl - optional, needed for 32-bit OpenGL support on 64-bit systems
lib32-opencl-catalyst - optional, needed for 32-bit OpenCL support on 64-bit systems

    What have I done wrong?
I’ve also tried booting to linux-lts kernel. No luck, same problem.

  • I’ve solved it. It seems that you have to enable each component.
    I just ran:

    sudo pacman -S acpid
    systemctl enable atieventsd
    systemctl start atieventsd

    systemctl enable catalyst-hook
    systemctl start catalyst-hook

    systemctl enable temp-links-catalyst
    systemctl start temp-links-catalyst

    sudo pacman -S qt4

    sudo aticonfig --initial
