• Hibernate device not found

    Hi,
    I recently transferred my antergos install to a new PC, and whenever I boot without selecting fallback it complains it can’t find the suspend device. Any help?

  • Probably your boot line has the resume= parameter. It defines the device used for hibernation. And probably the parameter identifies the device with UUID=:

    resume=UUID=

    Depending on how you’ve transfered Antergos to the new PC, the hibernation device UUID may or may not has been changed.

    Looks like it has been changed. Modify the UUID in the boot line to UUID of the device you want to use for hibernation on the new PC.

  • @just I don’t know what the hibernate device I want to use is, I’d rather just disable hibernation.

  • @lukeoftheaura Surely, the decision is up to you, but usually for hibernation is used the same device used for swap.

    If you use statically mounted swap partition(s), you may get it UUID from /etc/fstab.
