• Antergos doesent boot after fresh install - RAID 5 setup

    Hi all,
    I had Ubuntu/Windows combo on my RAID 5 setup. RAID is probably Fake ( it’s provided by ASUS MBO). So I booted live cd to switch Ubuntu for Antergos, deleted Ubuntu partitions, created new ones and install went without problems, but on BOOT I’m getting message: Unable to find root device: UUID:…

    I tried moving block in HOOKS of mkinitcpio.conf before autodetect but that didn’t work. Any suggestions?

  • Update:
    Managed to pass that point and now OS is starting, but root is readonly…

  • Hi,

    Check that the UUID is the correct one with sudo blkid

    Cheers!

  • Managed to fix it.
    UUID was correct.
    I had to add few stuff into mkinitcpio.conf
    This was trial and error, so if anyone can tell me what stuff are not necessary (e.g. can be removed), I also read somwhere that because I’m using raid I should add something to shutdown/reboot script, but I don’t know what.
    MODULES=“dm_mod raid5"
    BINARIES=”/sbin/mdmon"
    HOOKS=“base udev mdadm_udev lvm2 autodetect modconf block keyboard keymap mdadm
    filesystems fsck”

  • Cnchi (the installer) does not control if you’re using a RAID5 or not, so it does not modify your mkinitcpio.conf accordingly, sorry.

    I should add something to shutdown/reboot script

    I can’t help you with that, I have no idea.
