• Trouble installing Antergos with GTX 970

    Hello,

    A friend of mine has trouble installing Antergos on a machine including a NVIDIA GTX 970 and an Intel Core i5-4690K (UEFI).
    He has even trouble booting it from an USB drive, the bootloader appears with no problems but when he tries to launch Antergos, nothing happens. He has 2 displays, the main one is an [email protected] and the second one is an [email protected], connected via Display Port and DVI.
    When he tries to launch Antergos with NVIDIA Fallback, it starts, but only the second display is working.
    Windows is working fine (but with sometimes heavy performance issues. :c).

    I hope you can help me/him. : )

  • Try to boot with modified boot line. While on main Antergos startup screen, press either e or Tab to edit it. Don’t remember the right key.

    The boot line will appear at the bottom of the screen. Do not modify it, it is good as is. Add one more parameter at the end of the line:

    modprobe.blacklist=nouveau

    Hit Enter to boot.

    If it helps, we’ll continue later.

  • Okay, he did this. Now he has a screwed up resolution on the secondary (connected via DVI) display and no video on the primary display, which is connected via Display Port.

  • For installation you need 2 screens?
    Install with one unplugged, and do the setting on installed Antergos…
