• Sound Not Working (Thinkpad p70)


    Hello,
    I’ve installed Antergos onto my laptop successfully, however I am unable to get sound to work at all.
    More info:

    aplay -l
    **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
    card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC298 Analog [ALC298 Analog]
      Subdevices: 1/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

    I’ve installed pulseaudio-gconf pulseaudio-equalizer & pulseaudio-bluetooth however, still no sound. Any further advice?

  • All channels are unmuted, max volume. Only weird thing is that the default card is PulseAudio, not ‘HDA Intel PCH’

  • Use pavucontrol, maybe it helps find out what’s wrong (wrong output device?).

  • Try to rename .config/pulse folder, then logout and login.
