• Hide GRUB

How do I make the system boot straight into DM bypassing GRUB menu? I only have Antergos installed. It used to do that when I installed it the first time a month or so ago, but had to reinstall yesterday and now it starts with a GRUB menu.

I added GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true to grub. The menu’s gone but the WELCOME TO GRUB line still appears for a couple of seconds and then it goes to DM.

I’d like to hide all that and go straight to DM. Is it possible?

  • if you open /etc/default/grub and edit the GRUB_TIMEOUT=X
the X is the time you want, in the case 0
I read about it but never tested, but is probably just that.
    Good luck

  • @fernandomaroto Still get WELCOME TO GRUB message with GRUB_TIMEOUT=0

  • I just reinstalled the whole thing. This time, I chose systemd and /boot, not grub2 and /boot/efi. Didn’t pay attention.

  • hehehe, ok at least is working now?
