• Lightdm broken

Hello, On my new antergos installation with gnome-shell, when show lightdm for login, i can’t input my password in textbox, too, the suspend button, the shutdown button and restart button are exchanged. I have solved disabling lightdm, installing and enabling gdm.

I write this for report the problem.

  • @francisco.dominguez.lerma Greeter is now updated. Latest updates.

  • I have the exact same problem.

How can I bypass graphical boot and start my PC straight to console?

I did see the hint to add “systemd.unit=multi-user.target” to the kernel settings - but WHERE do I add this? I understand I have to press e to edit the GRUB config, but I wold like to know where I should add the line before I break anything.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @Anders , CTRL+Alt+F3 (if not f2 try another f key). You get into a tty screen. Give your username when prompted, net password, and next update your system sudo pacman -Syu or yaourt -Syua if you get the AUR enabled and you want to update all repos.
After the update process is finished, type in reboot or sudo reboot and you re done!
