    Please help… 😕

It seems that it can’t find Windows 8 on sdb1 for whatever reason. It was working fine before, what happened? I added a line to the kernel to disable ipv6 because it’s fucking up curl and I can’t resolve any host or connect to AUR with yaourt, so i added ipv6.disable=1. Then I tried configuring grub and it just freezes there…

  • Hi,

Try adding the following line to the end of your “/etc/default/grub” file:[code:3viq0r7h]GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU=y[/code:3viq0r7h] Try running grub-mkconfig again and it should work. There is an upstream bug that was fixed but sounds like its back again. NOTE: This option disables the use of submenus so your menu list will be put into one list vs separated into groups. Let me know if that helps!

    Best Regards,

  • It still freezes…

And by the way, if i run os-prober i get this:

    [[email protected] default]$ os-prober
    unshare failed: Operation not permitted
rm: cannot remove '/var/lib/os-prober/labels': Permission denied

Well I talked too soon. Adding that line to /etc/default/grub worked for the program grub-customizer but running grub-mkconfig freezes at that spot. Weird bug.

  • I also found grub-customizer to work very well at cleaning and organizing the Grub setup.
