• Display not working after upgrade

After a recent update my display on my laptop stopped working. It uses intel graphics. Grub displays fine, but it blanks as the system boots and stays black. When I plugged in an external monitor it worked just fine, allowing me to log in displaying the full X environment. I don’t think it’s a hardware problem since the system dual boots with Xubuntu, and Xubuntu has no issues. I’ve tried adding the “video=SVIDEO-1:d” kernel parameter suggested on the Arch Wiki to no avail. I’ve looked through the logs and have found nothing that seems useful to me, but I’m probably missing stuff.

    Thanks in advance,
    James.[0_1471364209579_logs.tar](Uploading 100%)

  • Have you tried using the lts kernel to see if the issue persists?

  • @JBrittain what does your xorg configs look like? What packages updated that you know of?

    Sys01: Antergos + Mate; GTX 1070 + nvidia package :)
Sys02: Antergos + Mate on Surface Pro 3

  • Thanks for the quick replies!

This LTS kernel did the trick, not sure why I didn’t think of it.
    I appreciate your time!
