• Reinstall grub dualboot

I installed my antergos installation on a new drive, and windows is on another drive.
Right now windows is the MBR and boots fine, but I can’t manage to fix the grub bootloader for antergos, right now I boot into antergos using super grub disk 2. How can I reinstall grub so I can boot into antergos and windows?

  • Using gparted created a 1mb bios-grub partition on the drive where antergos is installed

downloaded boot repair disk, went to advanced options checked the MBR option (so i could boot into windows)

booting into windows, turn off windows quick start
(quick start basically puts the drive in hibernation, because of this the drive is still active and can’t be accesed by grub to check if any OS is on the drive)

booted into antergos using super grub2 disk

sudo grub-install --target=i386-pc --recheck /dev/sdX (your antergos installation drive)
    and sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

changed bios boot sequence to the antergos drive as first to boot.

upon restart grub showed up and was able to boot into antergos and windows.

  • thank you @Irakli ! 🌲
