• installation problem on Asus ROG

I just purchased an ASUS ROG G501v with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2 GB graphics. It had a Windows 10 which I removed so I can install Antergos. I made the following changes to UEFI.

    • disabled Secure Boot Control

    • disabled Fast Boot Option

    • disabled Lunch CSM

Secure boot control was disabled by deleting ALL the keys within key management menu.

Then I burned the 64-bit ISO file on a DVD and ran it. I launched Cnchi and went through the menus and chose Gnome Desktop environment and activated all the feature selections including the LTS Kernel and Graphic Drivers. I, then, chose Erase disk and install (first option) and check marked the option to set up a separated Home partition. I have, on separate occasions, chosen to have Grub2 or Systemd-boot for the bootloader.
After it went through the installation process, upon booting, I get the following lines:

Under Boot (in UEFI) I have three boot options
Boot option #1 [Linux Boot manager…
Boot option #2 [UEFI PIONEER DVD-R… this is my cd/dvd rom
Boot option #3 [UEFI OS (P2: HGS

I would appreciated any help I can get.

  • My system failed also when I chose the LTS Kernel. The next attempt I did NOT choose the LTS and everything went perfectly.
