• Black screen after installation

    Hello,
I have problem with Antergos, after chosen system i got black screen with white cursor.
I try instruction from wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus
    but it no help me…
I have laptop with 2 graphic cards (intel and Nvidia)
    lspci | grep -E “VGA|3D” return :
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107M [GeForce GT 650M] (rev a1)
    I have installed nvidia, nvidia-libgl and xorg-xrandr (version nvidia0367.27-1)
I am not sure, but my xorg.conf is little strange for nvidia section.
    It is :

    Section "Device"
        Identifier "Device0"
        Driver "nvidia"
       VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    EndSection

I edited xorg.conf as in the wiki - Added section

    BusID "1:0:0"

but it also do not help me.

What else can I do ?

    I edited xorg.conf…

You don’t specify, what xorg.conf you’re talking about. If you’re trying to install proprietary Nvidia drivers and Bumblebee, then the “standard” xorg.conf is not used at all. If present, it breaks Bumblebee configuration. Simply speaking, the X server doesn’t start.

What else can I do ?

Read Antergos Wiki about Bumblebee and proprietary Nvidia drivers installation here.

  • Thank you @just for reply.
I have clean installation. I tried install Bumblebee, but got some conflicts with another nvidia drivers (it were removed). I finally installed Bumblebee and configure as described on wiki page.
I have to edit /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia (I added BusID)
    I still have balck screen.
Can I check logs from bumblebee ?

There are only two video drivers in a really clean installation on Optimus computers:

    • xf86-video-intel
    • xf86-video-nouveau (I highly recommend to uninstall it immediately after the installation)

Neither of them conflicts with proprietary Nvidia drivers.

If conflicts arise, it means that the installation is not clean. You have to follow the Antergos Wiki very thoroughly:

    • do not enable proprietary Nvidia during Antergos installation
    • do not install anything differently from how it is described in the wiki

Bumblebee doesn’t require any configuration. It either works or not.

I have to edit /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia (I added BusID)

I did it many times since 2010, when I started to follow the Bumblebee project. It serves for nothing and never solved anything.

    I still have balck screen.

Start a new installation and follow Antergos Wiki only. ArchWiki is a huge overkill for novices on the subject.

Can I check logs from bumblebee ?

    Bmb has no logs.
