• SDDM does not start - blank screen

    Hi guys!

Sddm is not working for me, I am getting a blank screen. I tried gdm and lightdm with the same result.
My desktop was working fine until yesterday.
    I have KDE and gnome.

    Any idea?

  • Was it after an update? You can try the lts kernel, as well
    sudo pacman -S linux-lts
    regenerate your grub
    sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
    and
    reboot

  • Thanks! I will try it. It was not after a kernel upagrade.

  • @Guillermo-Expósito s

    I have KDE and gnome.

That s my setup, too. Are you running them under the same user?
And another (maybe stupid) question . Do you disable the old and enable the new one?

  • I installed the lts kernel and I could not log into a display manager.
After upgrading I got a new version of systemd and maybe it fixed the issue because I could login into my system with both kernels.

Sorry but I didn’t catch “Do you disable the old and enable the new one?”

Thanks so much for your help!

We can consider the issue resolved but I am not sure what action fixed the issue.
