• Issues with current Live ISO and how I fixed them

Today I installed Antergos on my laptop using the latest ISO and had a few issues that I was able to fix. I thought I’d share in case someone else is having the same problems.

    1. the Live ISO uses the latest kernel 4.6, which unfortunately causes a system freeze at boot on some machines (see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=213495). I was able to bypass the freeze by adding the kernel option i915.enable_psr=0 to grub and then using the “downgrade” tool to install kernel 4.5
    1. mirrors were non-functional and installation failed, apparently because of this:

2016-06-16 05:21:55 [DEBUG] rank_mirrors.py(121) get_mirror_stats(): Failed to retrieve mirror status information: [Errno 2] No such file or directory
2016-06-16 05:21:55 [DEBUG] updater.py(76) init(): Cannot not find /usr/share/cnchi/update.info file. Cnchi will not be able to update itself.

so I copied mirrorlist and antergos-mirrorlist to /etc/pacman.d/ from another (working) installation and run pacman -Syy just before clicking the final install button in cnchi

    1. the keyboard layout selection screen in cnchi was empty. I simply had to use the “back” arrow button in cnchi and then “next” to make it appear. Maybe cnchi doesn’t like the fact that I’m using US locale and an IT keyboard :P no errors in the log anyway…

Anyway everything is working fine now and I’m really happy with my new Antergos-based system. Thanks :)

    Glad to enjoy Antergos :).

    Going through your list…

    1. Sadly it’s an upstream issue, nothing we can do besides tell them.

    2. Can you post the whole log? Preferably through pastebin.

    3. It’s a known issue and should’ve been fixed by now if it hasn’t already.

    :+1: .
