• What was that repo notification again?

I just completed my daily update via the Mate desktop widget.

It popped up some notification about fiddling with my repos.

I (foolishly?) attempted to copy the text by the usual click-to-highlight text, but the click seemed to dismiss the notification.

    Aaaarg!

Soooo, what was it saying, how do I see it again, and what do I need to do?

Bit of a trap for the unwary that is…

  • 'Tis OK. I found the Pamac history feature.

Reading the lines in reverse chronological order (kooky that!), I figured out what I needed to do.

Which if you trust me (and you shouldn’t) was basically:

    diff /etc/pacman.conf /etc/pacman.conf.pacnew
    # Diff looks good to me - 3 lines moved. SO:
    sudo mv -f /etc/pacman.conf.pacnew /etc/pacman.conf

  • @peterg4000 yes. replace pacman.conf with pacman.conf.pacnew
