• XFCE & Gala

I was successfully able to install run gala to replace xfwm4 as my window manager by using the pantheon repo. However I cant figure out how to make the hot corners work.Everything else works as expected, animations are smooth. I used dconf-editor to assign the hot corners but that didnt work.

  • Hmm…I’m not really sure but it could be something that has to be set with elementary’s control center modules which as I understand it are not all ported to Arch yet?

    Cheers!

  • The control center called switchboard has been ported and some of the ‘plugs’ work. I installed the one to configure hotcorners, dock (plank), wallpapers. The dock settings can be changed flawlessly. As I said gala run svery smoothly except for these hot corners. And its light weight. I cant do without hot corners. And kwin is too heavy for my liking.

  • Hmm…I really dont have any good answer for this. Perhaps Muffin would do what you want (Although I’m not even sure how easily it can be installed apart from cinnamon)

    Cheers!
