• Enable external monitor before disk-encryption login?

Is it possible to enable the external monitor of my notebook before the disk-encryption password is asked?

I’ve got a laptop with a Docking Station running Antergos with full hard disk encryption enabled. During boot, right after GRUB Menu. I have to enter the password to get antergos to boot.

The problem: At this state, my second monitor (attached to the docking station) is not yet recognized by the system. I have to open the notebook-lid, enter the password there, before I can work with my “usual” setup (External monitor, external keyboard).

    Any ideas?

  • Bump. I don’t have an encrypted disk but I can’t see the post-boot login screen unless I open my notebook lid.
