• cannot update, missing key?

    From xfce gui it appeared i was up to date for some time. I ran pacman by command line and found many updates waiting. When i try to update i get

    :: Proceed with installation? [Y/n]
    (84/84) checking keys in keyring                   [######################] 100%
    downloading required keys...
    error: key "CDBD406AA1AA7A1D" could not be looked up remotely
    error: required key missing from keyring
    error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)
    Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

    Any idea what this missing key is or how i can resolve? Thx!

    Any idea what this CDBD… key is

  • @billwx Looks like antergos and/or archlinux keyrings are outdated or corrupted. Try to re-initialize and re-populate both as described here . That commands sequence doesn’t hurt the system in any way, may be executed at any time, more than once.

    Good luck

  • 87 updates and 1 aur update done. Many thanks!
    One question, in my previous syntax i was using “pacman-key populate archlinux” without adding “antergos” Might this have caused my problem?

    Good. Will mark the topic as [Solved].

    Yes, it could be causing the problem. In Antergos archlinux and antergos keyrings are of absolutely equal importance. Both must be constantly maintained and always kept in good health.

    archlinux-keyring keeps the keys for packages from standard Arch repos - [core] , [extra] , [community] , [multilib] .

    antergos-keyring keeps the keys for packages from additional Antergos repo - [antergos] .

    Cheers
