• Swap Partition is setup, but not working

    I’m stumped at this point. I’ve tried everything, and my swap partition will not work. Here is the only thing that looks odd:

    /dev/sda1: LABEL="AntergosBoot" UUID="9f8fcc29-07c2-49f5-b4d3-2eeae3b8ac5a" TYPE="ext4" PARTUUID="cd2677c2-01"
    /dev/sda2: LABEL="AntergosRoot" UUID="36c7200d-818a-4c4f-a67e-8ef51e1980af" TYPE="ext4" PARTUUID="cd2677c2-02"
    /dev/sda3: UUID="8b7430b1-5dd0-4b97-8bf3-fd3897df3eb6" TYPE="swap" PTUUID="ffffffff" PTTYPE="dos" PARTUUID="cd2677c2-03"

    That "Swap"PTUUID? Where does that come from? I don’t think that should be there. But everything else is setup properly. Here is the output from “swapon -a”

    sudo swapon --show
    /dev/sda3 partition  13G   0B   -1

    Please help me figure this out…

  • W hat makes you think your swap is not working? According to swapon it is enabled and working but is not being used which is quite common for systems with plenty of ram.

  • Because my System Monitor would show 100% of RAM used and nothing in the swap drive.

  • You can tune how your system uses swap see swappiness at Arch wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/swap#Swappiness

  • @ThegoLopez paste result (ONLY):

    $ swapon --show

    (NO SUDO)
