• Can´t install my wifi Brother printers

    Hello guys

Have two printers, a Brother HL-2170W, and a Brother MFC-J430W.

I installed the HL with the foomatic driver using the USB port, and is working well 🙂 , i know the printer could be configured wirelessly, but i´m ok with the USB.

For the second, the MFC, i installed this driver:
    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/brother-mfc-j430w/
, but for me it is impossible to configure that wireless printer:

I have this URI, by default with the driver:

     dnssd://Brother%20MFC-J430W._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=e3248000-80ce-11db-8000-083e8e641681 .

Changed the URI with a lot of different configurations, with the printer´s IP included, but with no success. I don´t know what is wrong 😞

I searched on the CUPS wiki, but, no solution yet.

    Any ideas guys? thank you.

  • UPDATE: Is connected now! 😄 all i have to do is refresh de IP in the Printer, and then the URI is: ipp://ip.of.the.printer 😄

UPDATE 2, this two configurations worked for me so far so good:

    For the MFC-J430W: ipp://ip.of.the.printer
    For the HL-2170W: lpd://ip.of.the.printer:515/AUTO
