  • Do you have Windows installed on your system? If so, you’ll need to enable bluetooth from within Windows and then it should work. Actually the same goes for any other linux distros that you have installed. Make sure you haven’t disabled bluetooth in any of them because sometimes the hardware gets locked prevented other kernels from accessing it.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi,

many notebooks can turn on bluetooth by pressing the function keys like FN + F4
or they have a switch or button for it.

Would you tell me the notebook model? Then i can do a search for it.

I think the bluetooth is working, just the mate-applet is wrong !?

  • It is the MATE applet that is not working because it has not been updated to bluez5. See the wiki for more info: [https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/MATE#Bluetooth_applet][0]">[https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/MA][1] … oth_applet

    Cheers!

  • Thank you.
The applet is working now, but I can not send file to my phone.

  • This is most likely because with bluez4 there was a seperate package for obex-ftp but it is now integrated into the bluez5 package. Try installing gvfs-obexftp-bluez4 from the AUR.

    Cheers!

    I installed but neither work.

[[email protected] ~]$ pacman -Qe | grep -e obex -e blue
    > bluez-utils 5.13-1
    > bluez4 4.101-4

Upps, the bluetoothctl doesn’t find controler

    Edit:
Yes, because btctl use bluez5 and mate-bluetooth use bluez4
I cannot install bluez5 because its conflict with bluez4
