• kernel 4.5-1 issues with ZFS after update today

    @karasu, thx for the reply, it’s a fresh install no upgrade here
    nevertheless I tried

    zpool import -o mountpoint=/mnt/arch

    an same message:

    Thw ZFS modules are not loaded.
    try running ' /sbin/modprobe zfs' as root to load them

    trying it I get:

    /sbin/modprobe zfs
    modeprobe: FATAL Module zfs not found in directory /lib/modules/4.8.8-2-ARCH

    maybe a missing mkinitcpio at the end of the indtall process?

    Thanks,

  • I reinstalled, same issue. I retried and before rebooting, I used a shell to try to run mkinicpio in a chroot

    sudo zfs mount -a
    sudo mount --bind /proc /install/proc
    sudo mount --bind /sys /install/sys
    sudo mount --bind /dev /install/dev
    sudo mount /dev/sdb2 /install/boot
    sudo chroot /install mkinitcpio -p linux
    ...
    ==>ERROR: module not found : `zavl`
    ==>ERROR: module not found : `znvpair'
    ==>ERROR: module not found : `zunicode'
    ==>ERROR: module not found : `zcommon'
    ==>ERROR: module not found : `zfs'
    ==>ERROR: module not found : `zpios'

    what else am I missing?

    Thanks
