• Unable to install Tor Browser

Have installed tor, torsocks, and arm; have been trying to install tor browser and am getting a PGP signature error (seen screen cap below). Is there a way to import this key? Is there something else that I need to be doing? Am new to Arch and Pacman. Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,
    Greg

  • @Ogre Tried installing from the command line (yaourt -S tor-browser-en) and received the same failure. I also received a similar error when trying to install i2p:

==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg…
    i2psource_0.9.24.tar.bz2 … FAILED (unknown public key 85F345DD59683006)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build i2p.

Is there something that I am doing wrong? Thanks, Greg.

  • you can just download the zip and extract and run straight in folder. works just as good :+1:

and much quicker then installing from AUR ;)

  • Sorry, should have done some more searching and reading first, as I have resolved these issues by creating a key and receiving the keys. Thanks for tolerating my newbieness!!

    Best regards,
    Greg

  • if you want to get more secure go grab tails and put it on a disc or usb and reboot.

  • @Ogre happens to me all the time lol glad you figured it out and welcome to antergos

    :bowtie:

  • Find below a working key. enter this first in terminal.
    gpg --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-keys 2E1AC68ED40814E0

    taken from
    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/tor-browser-en

    Then build with
    yaourt -S tor-browser-en

    should work like a charm.
