Ah, I see. I did a fresh install when we switched to GNOME. Check your installed extensions via the GNOME Tweak Tool. If nothing else, you could just remove the one that is installed and install a different one. The sound applet in Cinnamon has some bug. This one and the fact that doesn’t show meta data when playing music

I did a fresh install of antergos and the xnoise controls works, but the icon appears twice.
On the other hand, and old install of cinnarch (now updated) has both the bugs: show the icon twice and controls do not appear.
