• Can't log out of openbox

Hey, when I click exit it just takes me to a blank screen with an unmovable cursor in the center.

Also, I installed openbox by myself. So I dont have any of the Antergos configuration.

The only apps I have are openbox and tint2.

Im thinking ts a session issue?

I honestly have no idea. But any help would be appreciated.

Cheers! I don't know what I'm talking about!

Not really a Openbox user myself. Just some things I could think off.
What happens when you reboot? Do you still have the same issue?

Why would you not use the Antergos configuration to make things more simple?
Anyway, you probably better add obconf and obmenu too.

Did you install the lightdm or any other DM properly?

    Never to old to learn.

  • It happens all the time. Reboot or not.

Because I alredy have it configured how I want it. Plus I dont want Compton/Thunar.
I already have a menu generation script.

And I uninstalld lightdm and I am pretty sure I installed GDM correctly

Cheers! I don't know what I'm talking about!

  • @Fedorai-Zomakaja

Is gdm showing ok the first time? It allows you to enter in Openbox?

In openbox, open a terminal and try to close openbox with:
    openbox --exit
    It does the same?

You should check your xorg logs (normally is /var/log/Xorg.0.log)

I’m sorry I can’t help you more. Are you sure gdm is correctly installed and lightdm correctly uninstalled?
    sudo systemctl enable gdm
    sudo systemctl disable lightdm

    Cheers!

  • I just changed lightdm to sddm but had to force the change. In case $ sudo systemctl enable (DM) does not work you can try to force it:

$ sudo systemctl enable (DM) --force

    Never to old to learn.
