• Power button on Gnome hibernates

    Is there any way to get the typical pop-upon linux systems when you press the power button?

    Mine directly put the laptop to hibernate.

  • Yea I would love to know that too, everything I found online is about keyboard power, hibernate and sleep keys. Nothing about the actual power button.

  • I am not near my PC now, but I believe it is in the Power section of Settings, or in the Tweak tool. If no one else replies till tomorrow, I’ll get back at you.

  • The closest solution that I found is go to dconf, navigate to org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power and then change power-action-button to nothing (nothing, suspend, hibernate are the options).

    At least now I don’t have to worry about pressing the button accidentally.
