• How to ignore packages in octopi ?

i want to exclude some packages from being upgraded.

In pamac we can add packages in ignored list. how to do it in octopi ? i heard octopi is better than pamac.

  • Why do you want to exclude an update?

  • @Wyn not for important packages.
i only want to exclude things like libreoffice, ttf google font. i will only upgrade those things if major update comes. i dont want to waste my internet data on these pkgs.

why there is no ignore pkg option in octopi ?

  • @Sam-N

The longer you wait to update the higher chance an issue can occur.

Libreoffice’s update is a bugfix release, there’s no reason not to get it: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/

If you must block packages from upgrading go into /etc/pacman.conf and add the packages to the IgnorePkg line. Ex IgnorePkg = package1 package2. Why there isn’t the option in octopi I don’t know.
