• Issue with Wine / Battle.net

Hey guys. I’ve been trying to ease myself out of the windows ecosystem now for a couple months, but I enjoy playing games and thus far this has been the only thing holding me back. In particular, I’m trying to get the Battle.net client working for PlayOnLinux. Anyway, I’ve been running into an error with “winhttp” and I’m wondering if someone would be able to help.

Prior to winhttp’s installation, debug spat out a WHOLE bunch of stuff pertaining to winhttp.
So, unless I’m misinformed the solution is obvious, just install winhttp right? Well, this seems to have made the debug output much shorter.

    [01/24/16 11:13:39] - Running wine- Battle.net Launcher.exe (Working directory : /home/user/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/Battle.net/drive_c/Program Files/Battle.net)
    err:module:import_dll Loading library WINHTTP.dll (which is needed by L"C:\Program Files\Battle.net\Battle.net Launcher.exe") failed (error c000007b).
    err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\Program Files\Battle.net\Battle.net Launcher.exe" failed, status c0000135

Anyway, I’d appreciate some guidence. I’ve looked around elsewhere for a solution to this problem but no luck. Thanks.

  • Did you install winhttp.dll using winetricks?
