• Signature problem with i3 packages

    Could you check into this.
    Clean install of this morning
When installing antergos december 2015.12.29 from usb and choosing bare installation. I have gotten errors when installing
    sudo pacman -S i3-wm i3lock i3status
I seem to be alone - did not find any information online or on your forum
I did try different solutions. Updating keys.

The only thing that helped me to get passed this error is by editing the
    nano /etc/pacman.conf and change
    SigLevel = Never

So my guess is that the package itself will not be corrupt but that signatures are not in order.

    Could you help please.

  • Iā€™m unsure if you had the same issues, but I also had problems with i3 relating to keys being out of date.

So trying to refresh them, I got this.
    sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys
gpg: connecting dirmngr at '/root/.gnupg/S.dirmngr' failed: IPC connect call failed
gpg: keyserver refresh failed: No dirmngr
==> ERROR: A specified local key could not be updated from a keyserver.

And the solution to fixing it, was this. Note that this may take a while, I waited close to 10 minutes.
    sudo mkdir /root/.gnupg
    sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys
gpg: refreshing 87 keys from hkp://pool.sks-keyservers.net

    Which resulted in this.
    gpg: Total number processed: 85
    gpg: unchanged: 2
    gpg: new signatures: 1797

Now the packages are verified and installed without error.

  • thanks boushiya

i will print that out and start installing from scratch to see if it solves the issue.

  • setting the siglevel to none helps too - if you are not too paranoid šŸ˜‰

  • the same problem appeared on manjaro as well.
