• Download during Openbox variant of installation takes hours

I know it’s not a connection issue because yesterday I finished a Gnome variant of the installation under an hour.

I’m new to arch, can I choose packages’ hosting in a configuration file somewhere?
PS: I’m installing from a USB stick.

  • sudo nano /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

Comment or cut out the ones you don’t need. Uncommented the ones close to you.
    Then use

    sudo pacman -Syy

    to sync .

In a normal arch installation, they tell you to choose mirrors before install, in the beginner’s guide.

  • Great, it has just finished, but I’ll remember that, thanks!

No prob. Now that it’s finished, you should go ahead and do that anyways. Will make future installs faster.
