• HOW TO: Auto-login into xfce on boot

That’s the question, couldn’t figure out from online searches.

  • @newtoxfce For all DEs Antergos uses LightDM by default. LightDM allows to autonatically login to any of them.

    1. Edit the file
      /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf

    2. Find the section
      [Seat:*]

    3. In this section, find the following two lines
      #autologin-user=
      #autologin-user-timeout=0

    4. Uncomment both. Specify the user to login automatically. Set autologin timeout to 0
      autologin-user=just
      autologin-user-timeout=0

    5. Done

On next reboot the user just will be logged into DE automatically.

Disclaimier: Works for Budgie, Mate, Cinnamon, Kde, Gnome. I’m not using XFCE.
