• [Solved] Pacman mirrorlist broken after pacman-mirrorlist20151215-1 update

    Hi everyone,
After the last update of pacman-mirrorlist package, pacman wasn’t able to read the mirror list, so I couldn’t check for other update.
Fortunately I found an easy workaround.

In the /etc/pacman.d/ directory there is a file called mirrorlist.pacnew,
To have pacman working just uncomment the mirrors of your region (or any you like) and save the file as
(Of course, you need root powers :P )

If there is another /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist, save it as a backup (this can avoid you some troubles if the solution doesn’t solve the problem)

Look into reflector, it’ll make updating the mirror list easier :+1: .

With reflector you can start deleting mirrorlist.pacnew and simply use reflector for updating the mirrors.

sudo reflector --verbose -l 20 -p http --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
