• Running a command on startup

    I’m trying to run sudo chmod 777 /sys/class/leds/asus::kbd_backlight/brightness every time I boot my computer, so that I would be ablo to change the brighntess of the keyboard lights. However I can’t get it to work.

    Adding chmod 777 /sys/class/leds/asus::kbd_backlight/brightness & autostart.sh with or without sudo didn’t work. Also adding that to session-setup-script or session-cleanup-script in lightdm.conf didn’t work either. What I’m missing?

  • How about using the “@reboot” within root’s crontab?

    @reboot chmod 777 /sys/class/leds/asus::kbd_backlight/brightness
