• Grub does not install for a repair (in dual boot with Windows), seemingly different than Arch method

Similar to this issue, however Antergros is already installed.
The thread is unsolved and yet “lots.0.logs” seems to have a clue as to how to fix it.

Getting the same issue when running grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
    Generating grub configuration file …
    ERROR: mkdir /var/lock/dmraid
    ERROR: mkdir /var/lock/dmraid
    ERROR: mkdir /var/lock/dmraid
/run/lvm/lvmetad.socket: connect failed: No such file or directory
WARNING: Failed to connect to lvmetad. Falling back to internal scanning.
grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sdd1. Check your device.map.

I have tried the grub install in many ways, including using the official Arch Live image, the Antergros live image, rebuliding it in a working condition from scratch from windows, then reinstalling using either method.

  • Did you install your grub to /dev/sdd1 ?
What do you have on /dev/sdd1? Or better, can you share your disks layouts in this computer?
