• Antergos's ZFS Modules/Packages

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but can someone elaborate on the ZFS kernel modules added to the 11.14 ISO?
While in the livedvd, ZFS is not loaded, modprobe cannot find ZFS, and the ZFS packages included in the repo installs but returns "Error! Could not find module source directory.
    Directory: /usr/src/zfs- does not exist."
mkinitcpio then tries to generate a ramdisk, but can’t find specified kernel image(s).

I’ve tested using the [demz-repo-core] zfs-git package set and the livedvd loads zfs properly.

  • Hi,

ZFS support is currently in development. It is not ready for outside testing. We’ll post an announcement on our blog as soon as it’s ready for testing. Thanks for your interest

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for the info.
Is there anything we can do to help test the packages?

  • Not at this point in time, though we will need input from testers who are familiar with configuring and running ZFS very soon. @karasu should be able to give you a better estimated timeline, so let’s see what he says.

  • Hi,

As Dustin said, zfs support it’s in its early stages. If you want to test our packages, you have to issue an sudo dkms install zfs/0.6.5.3 after installing the zfs package.

Support in Cnchi dev, as it is now, is unusable as it will leave you with an unbootable system.

    Here are my notes: https://github.com/Antergos/Cnchi/wiki/ZFS-(notes)

    Cheers!
