• No screen - xserver error

After updating today, x-server did not start. It is not the first time but mostly I am able to solve it , but whatever I do, not this time.

this is the log from /.local/share/xorg/Xorg .0.log

  • Hi.
I do not know a whole lot about this but looking at your output

Perhaps have a look at the config file. Sorry, for this I am no wizard.

  • Perhaps have a look at the config file

@axioma @Modisc is right, you have a typo in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file

If you can’t figure it out, just post your config file and we’ll try to help.

    Cheers!

  • you have a typo in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file

There is not much in the conf file:

    Section "ServerLayout"
    EndSection

I am still not sure what exactly I am missing. Re-downloading the iso. This may give me an idea.
I did get the following message (sorry forgot where exactly) that said:

    *Error: filesystem:750 package: 700

This happened after the Polkit update two days ago.

I have also added the /Xorg.1.log below.
    Hope this will help…
    Cheers

  • Delete the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file… and try again.

I don’t see any problem in the second log, but you shouldn’t have an Xorg.1 file. This could mean you’re running two Xservers in your computer (because first one didn’t work).
