• Frequent Issues with Pacman and Pamac

Hi. I have recently switched over to Arch, through Antergos. I’m facing problems with Pacman and Pamac too frequently.

    1. GPGME error
    2. Unable to lock database
    3. Core not found.

I have been able to troubleshoot most of the problems. But is there a permanent solution? P.S. For installing packages, I use both Pamac and command line, depending on my mood.

  • Perhaps mirror connection issues?

I don’t know for sure if any of this might help, but have a read on this Manjaro thread first. It might give insight

It says to do the following
    sudo pacman-mirrors -u
Then go and check /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and see the mirror/server list.
sudo pacman-mirrors -i Select preffered mirrors.
    sudo pacman -Syyuu

    1. Unable to lock database

This clearly states that pamac and pacman are trying to access the database at the same time. Either use pamac or pacman, but not both at the same time.

Bear in mind that pamac scans periodically for updates, so if you use pacman at that very moment you will get this error.

    Cheers!
